Meet Our Groomers

Katie – Salon Manager

Katie has been working with animals since she was seventeen. She started working on the racetrack as a groom for World Class Standardbred racehorses. After a few years of traveling with the horses she went to school at the Pompano Beach School of Dog Grooming. Katie began her grooming career working in Fort Lauderdale. She then took a break to work with Veterinarians as a technician. In 1982 she moved to North Carolina and went back to grooming, opening Luv on a Leash in Mint Hill. After a few years she merged her business with a partner and opened Woof n Hoof in Mint Hill. In 1991 Katie sold her business and went to work for PetSmart as a Salon Manager. The first year with the company she received the Regional Salon of the Year award. She trained other Salon Managers for the company and also became certified as an Academy Instructor, training associates how to groom all breeds. In 2006, she led her grooming team to win a “Best of the Best” award from Charlotte City Magazine. The editor stated. “ This PetSmart is fastidious about hiring people who really love animals.”

After being with the big box company for 13 years, Katie wanted to work on a more personal level with the community and their pets and joined the team at Pet Supplies Plus. “I treat every pet as if it is my own. I become their mom away from home. They know me and love the time they are visiting with me.”She feels grooming should be a good experience for any dog. Dogs shouldn’t shake and not want to come to the salon. It should be their day to shine! A day at the spa!

Katie hand picks only the best of the best people for the grooming staff. Quality and not quantity is our goal.

She used to show AKC Parti Cocker Spaniels. She has two sons and now has 2 Chinese Crested (hairless) “Mimi and Gusto” , a Brussels Griffon, “Coraline”, a 25 lb cat named“Moose” and a canary named “Bill”.

Danielle has always had a passion for all animals. As a child, she knew she wanted a career working with animals.

She began her career working at one of the big box stores as a bather. That was where she met Katie and trained under her to become a Certified All Breed Pet Stylist in early 2009.

Danielle followed Katie to PSP as she too yearned for a more personal relationship with her Pet Parents and their pets. Danielle loves grooming all breeds but has a special connection with Poodles, Bichons, and Chihuahuas.

Currently Danielle is the proud Pet Parent to Madison, her rescued Chihuahua, Emory, a lab mix, Rue, a Min Pin mix, Jabba, a Pixie Frog, Puff, a Bearded Dragon, as well as assorted reptiles. She also is the new proud Mom to a Lionhead Bunny named Eleanor.

Carolyn has always worked with pets and comes to PSP with over twenty years of grooming experience. She completed her grooming training in California in 1992 and began her career in a big box store. Displaying a passion for both pets and people, she was quickly promoted to Salon Manager and maintained that position until moving to Charlotte in 2003. After taking a few years off to start her family, she returned to work at the big box store in 2006. Eventually she because disillusioned with the corporate feel, and wanted to find a new home where she could form more personal relationships with the pets and their people. She was hand picked by Katie, our Salon Manager to join our team. Carolyn says that Dogs are like our children and they should be treated like our “Fur Babies”.

Carolyn lives with her husband and two boys. The rest of her family consists of “Bismo” a Chihuahua, a Sheltie, “Lambeau” and then there is “Brrap”, a Boxer mix.
